3 New Silks at 4 New Square 

 

4 New Square is delighted to announce that Ben Patten, Jalil Asif and Nicholas Bacon will be elevated to Queen’s Counsel with effect from 22nd March 2010 This increases the number of silks in Chambers to 20 out of a total of 70 members.

 

The breadth of expertise demonstrated by the trio and their recent track records in large-scale litigation illustrate the range and quality of work covered by barristers at 4 New Square:

 

        Ben Patten is an expert in professional liability, construction and commercial litigation. His appointment as a QC follows on from his having been named Chambers & Partners’ Professional Negligence Junior of the Year in 2009.

 

        Jalil Asif is an expert in product liability and professional liability and has regularly been recommended as a leading junior in these areas in the legal directories. He is also an editor of the Professional Negligence & Liability Reports.

 

        Nicholas Bacon has appeared in the most significant costs law cases in recent years. His unparalleled expertise in this area has been recognised by his repeatedly being named as the standalone best junior in this practice area by the legal directories. Nick has also written The Bar Handbook 2010 and was recently lead speaker in 4 New Square’s seminar on Jackson LJ’s recent Review of Costs in Civil Litigation.
