Profile
Rick has a broad commercial practice. Rick’s practice primarily covers four areas: commercial litigation, professional liability claims, disciplinary work and costs.
Rick has experience of a wide range of general commercial litigation, including sale and supply of goods and services, share sale agreements and breach of warranty claims and contractual disputes (including points of construction). He also has experience of insurance and reinsurance work and is often asked to advise on the interpretation of policy-wording and coverage disputes.
He specialises in all fields of professional liability, with particular emphasis upon construction professionals, accountants and auditors, lawyers and insurance brokers.
Rick is also regularly instructed by the British Horseracing Authority to advise and appear at Inquiries, disciplinary hearings and appeal hearings. His varied and wide-ranging cases include cases of corruption and financial impropriety, interference disputes and ownership disputes.
Rick also has experience in the specialised field of costs and is often instructed to appear in cases solely in relation to costs.
Rick joined Chambers in 2000 after pupillage here. After studying law at Cambridge University, and achieving a first and winning a university prize in Part 1 of the Tripos, he went on to achieve a major scholarship from Middle Temple.
