David specialises in commercial insurance and reinsurance, professional liability (principally accountants (both complex tax planning and auditors’ negligence), brokers and solicitors) and commercial product liability disputes.

He also has particular experience of substantial fire-related claims including the Digital/Capital & Counties claim, the Sun Valley Fire, the Heathrow Fire and the explosion(s) at Buncefield oil storage depot in December 2005.

He is an editor of Jackson & Powell on Professional Liability.

David is listed as a new silk in Chambers UK 2010 for both Professional Liability and Product Liability, described as "absolutely meticulous in everything he does; he doesn't miss a trick" (Product Liability) and “he will dig out great points from material that on the face of it doesn’t look promising" (Professional Negligence).
